About the Doctors



Dr. Lisa Giarrusso

Dr Dr. Lisa M. Giarrusso joined her father in practice in 1992. She always knew that she wanted to return home to practice with her dad.

Dr. Lisa Giarrusso is affectionately known as a Triple Jumbo, a three-time graduate of Tufts University. She received her Bachelor of Science in 1986 from the Jackson College of Tufts in Medford and moved to the Boston Campus, where in 1990, she received her D.M.D. from the School of Dental Medicine. In 1992, she completed her Certificate in Orthodontics and has always maintained her affiliation with Tufts, as she immediately joined the faculty in orthodontics after graduation. Dr. Lisa Giarrusso has been teaching since 1992 and is now an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthodontics, where she continues to teach one day each week (and where she serves on several committees). Dr. Giarrusso became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 1999. She has vast experience with children but maintains a large adult practice as well. She has a great deal of experience treating numerous patients who require orthognathic surgery in combination with their orthodontics.

Dr. Lisa is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Massachusetts Dental Society, Tufts University Dental Alumni Association and the Tufts Association of Orthodontics. She continues to be a member of the Alumni Council of the Bancroft School. She is a past president of the Tufts University Dental Alumni Association. She is a member of the Worcester Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Giarrusso directs the orthodontic component of the University of Massachusetts Medical School General Practice Residency in Dentistry. Dr. Giarrusso is also Invisalign certified.

Drs. Giarrusso and Livanos are the 2006 recipients of the national APSE Employers award and the 2006 Massachussetts Council of Human Services Award For Small Businesses.

Dr. Lisa enjoys playing golf in the summer months with her family and friends. She prefers her yoga practice in the foul weather rather than snow-sport adventures.

In 2004, Dr. Lisa Giarrusso and Dr. Gregory Livanos were married.


Dr. Gregory Livanos

Dr Dr. Gregory Livanos joined Central MA Orthodontic Associates, P.C. in December 2004.

Dr. Livanos is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey, where he received a Bachelor of Science in 1983. He then went on to receive his D.M.D. in 1986 also at the Farleigh S. Dickinson Jr. School of Dental Medicine in Hackensack, New Jersey. He completed a general practice residency at St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady, NY in 1987. Dr. Livanos practiced general dentistry for six years in Saratoga Springs, New York while maintaining a faculty appointment at St. Clare’s Hospital. He received his Certificate in Orthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1995. Dr. Livanos became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 2005.

He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. He is also a member of the Worcester Area Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Livanos comes to Massachusetts after practicing for seven years in Kendall Park, New Jersey in his own private practice, as well as being a partner in a practice in Warren, New Jersey. Dr. Livanos was a faculty member at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, teaching in the Department of Orthodontics. He has vast experience with children as well as with adults. Dr. Livanos is Invisalign certified.

On a more personal note, Dr. Livanos is an avid athlete, running all year, biking and golfing as the weather affords and snowboarding in the winter months. He completed the New York City Marathon but has been drawn to the fair links of late.

In 2004, Dr. Lisa Giarrusso and Dr. Gregory Livanos were married.


Dr. Frederick Giarrusso

Dr Dr. Frederick J. Giarrusso started this practice in 1966 in Worcester, MA. Dr. Giarrusso comes from Queens, NY, where he attended St. John’s University. He left college early to begin his dental studies at New York University, where he received his D.D.S. in 1961. After graduating from NYU, he served as Captain in the United States Army, Dental Corps. He attended Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery and received his Certificate in Orthodontics in 1966. Dr. Giarrusso taught in the Orthodontic Department at the Memorial Hospital General Practice Residency for many years. He has been active in the Worcester District Dental Society. He maintains membership in the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists, Northeastern Component.

Dr. Giarrusso practiced in Worcester and Spencer for many years, specializing in children and adults and also specialized in treating disorders of the temporomandibular joints.
